n the last two years, as the Covid-19 pandemic caused unprecedented disruption all over the world, the Seafood Industries Association Singapore (SIAS) proved the Association’s resilience under the most testing conditions in our history, culminating in a record growth in number of memberships. This achievement has given us greater confidence in the value-creating potential of our members and increased activities.
In September 2022, SIAS and the following 7 associations formed the Singapore Food Association Alliance (SFAA):
- Bedok Industrial Association
- Meat Traders’ Association Singapore
- Singapore Bakery and Confectionary Trade Association
- Singapore Food Manufacturers’ Association
- Singapore Noodles Manufacturers’ Association
- Singapore Toys and Confectionary Dealers’ Association
- Woodlands East Industrial & Commercial Association
The associations will remain steadfast and be ready to provide coordination and assistance should our members need help. We hope that all members can connect and expand their businesses locally and globally.
On the international front, SIAS has been spearheading and initiating various business matching activities and also actively taking part in exhibitions and trade visits on both local and global scales. We will also continue to engage the government for their support and work with them on new initiatives and business improvement.
Finally, on behalf of all our members, we would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to Enterprise Singapore, Singapore Food Agency and NTUC uSME for their active support and leadership in helping us navigate through the difficult times in the last two years.
I wish all our members and friends good health and success in the coming years!
