Greetings to the Agri-Food Community in Singapore!
As the Chairman of the International Association for Agricultural Sustainability (IAAS), it is with great enthusiasm that I extend my greetings to the vibrant agribusinesses in Singapore. Our collaboration holds the promise of advancing sustainable agricultural practices and fostering positive change within the industry.
IAAS, a legally recognized non-profit organization registered in Singapore, is dedicated to tackling the challenges of agricultural sustainability through technological innovation and strategic investment. We provide a global platform for leaders in business, academia, and relevant societal sectors to engage in meaningful dialogue, facilitating fundamental research in scientific innovation, exploring cutting-edge agricultural science, and guiding enterprises in leading transformative efforts that support agricultural economic development.
Over the years, IAAS's advisory team has been committed to assisting agricultural enterprises in innovation and addressing critical technical challenges. In response to the imperatives of agricultural modernization, we have successfully organized forums aimed at promoting knowledge and technological transformation in the agricultural industry on an international scale. Notably, in 2023, in partnership with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), SMU Business Families Institute (BFI@SMU), and SkillsFuture Singapore Lifelong Learning Institute (SSG-LLI), we hosted The ESG Forum for Family Business.
The International Agriculture Innovation Conference (IAIC), our flagship event, is an annual international conference dedicated to agricultural innovation. Since its inception in 2016, IAIC has successfully convened for eight sessions. As the primary organizer, IAAS has forged global partnerships spanning research institutions, established and start-up private enterprises, facilitating the gathering of scholars, researchers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and investors worldwide to engage in dialogue on agricultural technology and propose viable solutions to sustainability issues. IAIC has been held consecutively for eight years in various countries or cities, including Taichung, Taiwan; Chiang Mai, Thailand; Beijing, China; Oulu, Finland; Maryland, USA; France, and the United Kingdom. Our 9th IAIC in 2024 will be from 10-12 June in Germany, and the 10th edition in 2025 will be held in Sweden.
Together, let us explore new avenues for sustainable agriculture, share best practices, and collectively work towards a more resilient and environmentally conscious agri-food sector. I extend an invitation to all stakeholders listed in the Singapore Agri-Food Business Directory 2024/25 to join IAAS in this journey towards a more sustainable future for agriculture.
