                   RECIPE
JALEBI
Jalebi Batter
• 16 tbsp/1 cup all-purpose flour
• 4 tbsp corn flour
• 1⁄4 tsp baking soda
• 1⁄4 tsp orange food colouring powder
• 4 tbsp plain yogurt
• 150 ml plain water
Jalebi Coating (Sugar syrup)
• 3 cups sugar
• 1 1⁄2 cup water
• 6 to7 pieces cardamom
• 2 to 3 sticks cinnamon
• 2 tsp lemon juice
Steps
Jalebi Batter:
1. MixallingredientsfortheJalebibatter.
2. Whiskthemixturetoensureitiswellmixed.Coverand
set it aside for 15 minutes.
3. Pourbatterintoapipingbag.
4. Cutasmallholeattheendofthepipingbagtopipethe
batter later.
(Do note that Jalebi will puff after frying.)
Jalebi Coating (Sugar syrup):
1. Inapan,mixallingredientsfortheJalebicoatingand
bring the mixture to a boil.
2. Makesurethatthesugarisfullydissolved.
3. Thesugarsyrupshouldhaveaslightlystringyconsistency.
4. Bringthesugarsyrupofftheheat.
Frying Jalebi:
1. Heatsomeoilinapanovermediumtohighheat.
2. Oncetheoilisheated,pipe2to3circlesofyourbatterto
form one Jalebi.
3. FrybothsidesandensurethatthepuffedJalebiiscrisped
on both sides.
4. OncetheJalebiiscrispy,removefromthepanand
submerge it in the warm sugar syrup.
5. Onceitisevenlycoated,lettheexcesssyrupdripoff.
6. Platetoserve.
